so far raised $2285 from my One month homeless campaign. My donation site will be up until the end of November. Thankyou to everyone who has made a donation and supported me through this, without you I would be nowhere. Big hug and kisses to you. So far I am the number 1 fundraiser for the Winter Sleepout through Mission Australia. YAY. I still plan on trying to reach my $10,000 goal so if your keen to support a good cause your donation is greatly appreciated, even a few dollars helps :)

Gus Worland from Tripple M's The Grill Team broadcasted from 6am to 9am this morning chatting about my One month homeless, he said he was feeling a little apprehensive about being around homeless people at first but said afterwards he was very glad he got involved and met some great people, hearing stories from people ...about their lives from which led them to being on the streets.

was woken up during my whole 1 hour sleep last night in a coughing fit with something that had crawled in my mouth, it feels horrible, after trying to make it come up that didn't work so I went to the doctor but unfortunately they couldn't see anything, it must have scratched my throat, ah it feels horrible, I have a dead bug inside me :(

People living rough or with hard lives don't have to be categorised as smelly and dirty. There are plenty of people wandering the world in suits who face the same problems of addiction and homelessness but don't have to put up with the ridicule of being judged all because of what they wear and how they look
stopped in at Wayside Chapel this morning, had a great chat with some of the staff, they were very interested in my campaign & are supporting it by writing up a story on their website, I will also be filming an interview with them next week. In the past year alone Wayside has provided, amongst other services, 8275 meal...s, 4370 changes of clothing, 2120 counseling sessions & over 1790 referrals to services & agencies
spent the morning in Newtown park waiting for lunch to start at 1pm at the drop in centre. Each passer by starring at me and my friend who were looking pretty homeless, wasn't a very nice feeling being looked down on which I have felt a lot this month. I was feeling pretty hungry having to wait till 1pm for my 1st meal... of the day from being up so early but thouroughly enjoyed it and met some lovely people over lunch
spent last night sleeping in the kids playground in Newtown in the sandpit. Slightly more comfy than some places i've spent my nights but super cold. Probably got a couple of hours sleep waking up at every noise, wandering if the drunk people yelling down the road would come bother me and my friend Mani who volunteered to camp out with me
snuck in to the movies last night to kill some time and be somewhere warm, probably not the best thing to do but when you have no money and no where to go you try to keep yourself entertained, there is not much support or places to go for people living homeless during the evening and on the weekends
met Linden a man from Gosford who previously lived on the streets for 12 years, he said the worst thing being homeless was being lonely and cold. He had been a heroin addict for over 20 years, lovely guy who had lost his family and everything because of drugs. He says he just can't stop thinking about it. When asked if... he could have anything in the world to help him get through life he just wants a nice lady
Spent the day at the Coast Shelter in Gosford yesterday listening to a couple swearing and yelling at their little kids who live homeless, the youngest child about 4 years old. The police had been on to them earlier in the day for waving a macheti around and disturbing the whole caravan park. I just wanted to hug the l...ittle kiddies poor darlings, this is 1 family of many living like this

was feeling pretty cold on the concrete last night out in Kariong on the Central Coast. Off to the Coast shelter now for some lunch and to meet the local people living homeless, Coast Shelter provides accommodation to approximately 110 homeless men, women and children each night and also coordinates the provision of ov...er 200 meals each day at the Donnison Street Community Centre.
slept out at the beach the other night until in started raining, it was freezing cold and super windy, didn't get any sleep till the early hours until I went to my new friend Andrew Rix campervan which he lives in, luckily he was around the corner & let me crash in his van. He also shared his canned soup with me the other day also was great company

from the food van Mama Rene's last night in Brisbane there was probably over 100 people of all ages lining up to get food, I was amazed at how much food they gave out it was great, cereal, fruit, pasta, veges, sandwiches. Everyone got bags and bags of stuff. Places like these help so much with people living homeless
feeling pretty tired after a couple of hours sleep, luckily I don't have to go to work. With half the homeless population being under 25 a big percentage of them would be meant to be going to school, feeling sleep deprived after not having a safe place to sleep each night would definately be very hard
This is Harry's home who I met in Byron Bay at the Salvation Army cottage. He's in his sixties, surfs everyday and lives here on the main beach in Byron. Such a cool dude, had loads of amazing stories to tell. He say's he loves it here and chooses to live homeless, he has been there since earlier on in the year. Unfort...unately I didn't get around to film him but hope to go back and find him again to get on film

after meeting a group of people and telling my story of my One month homeless they asked if I wanted anything, there was nothing I could think of that I wanted, just their company was all I needed as it gets quite lonely on your own on the streets. In the end they did shout me a beer which was awsome :)

has met many people in Byron who are happy living homeless either in the bush or on the beach. Some of the reasons being the freedom they have, not feeling trapped in a box and in the same daily routine of working a 9 to 5 job. I'm starting to totally understand why, humans didn't used to live like this, this life we'r...e supposed to live has been created by people for what?
hung out all day at The Salvation Army cottage for the last time as i'll be leaving Byron very soon. Everyone has been super lovely and I hope to see all of you again. The cottage is a safe place which has been like a home to me since I arrived only a few days ago, i'm very grateful for the good company, cups of tea, d...elicious food and hot showers. I will definately pop back in next time i'm Byron way

when someone thanks you for helping them make a change in their life it's a wonderful feeling. To me it seemed like nothing but for Matthew hopefully it will be a step forward for him to get a job and get off the streets, things like this make what i'm doing so much easier, if that is the only thing I achieve from my O...ne month homeless i'd be super happy just with that

Arrived in Byron Bay in the wee hours of the morning after a long train ride. Thinking it would be nice and sunny but it's pouring with rain. What is a homeless person to do in this case, no home and in a strange place. With 4 hours to kill until the Community Centre opens. Thankfully there was Matthew a homeless man also waiting, he was super lovely, fingers crossed he gets this job to get off the streets.

I have met some of the nicest, caring people with the biggest hearts throughout my ordeal which has made my experience all the worth while.
Also in the last week I have been looked down on, told to get a job and have been called a junkie. It's amazing how some people can be so judge mental and want to put you into a bo...x with a label

The past 8 days I have been wearing the same clothes day in day out, sitting now in 3 pairs of pants to try keep as warm as possible. I have had no make up, moisturiser, clean clothing or money and surviving on very basic meals with not knowing when my next shower will come. Saying that I have very rarely complained kn...owing there are thousands of people having to do this every night.
It is now day 8, I have survived the 1st week living on the streets. Today I will start heading North with my 1st stop being Newcastle. After a busy week working hard washing car windows, shop fronts and selling The Big Issue I have earned enough money for my travel with a little left over for a couple of nights accomodation if needed.
Is very excited Tripple M called yesterday who are getting on board to help promote my One month homeless campaign, Gus Worland from The breakfast show will be sleeping out with me on Tuesday 24th August recording the whole night. Stay tuned to hear me live on air on my last day on the streets on Friday 27th with updat...es throughout the week promoting my One month homeless. Thankyou Tripple M :)
Thanks to my lovely friend Sandy Shop for letting me crash at her pad to get a good nights sleep after 5 days of cold, sleepless, lonely nights.
After a 14hr sleep i'm ready to hit the streets again. Lucky for me I have people around me to lend a hand, in a lot of case's many people living homeless do not have this saf...ety net

Many people are hungry not for bread only, but they are hungry for.. love. Many people are not only naked for want of a piece of cloth, but they are naked for human dignity. Homelessness is not only not having a home made of bricks, but homelessness is being rejected, unwanted, unloved, uncared for. - Mother Teresa

Day 4 into my One month homeless. first shower and change of clothes today so far, thankyou to The Station drop in centre in CBD, ah i'm so grateful.
So far i've had some wonderful, interesting, tiring, scary and a million other emotions flow throughout the last few days. I think i've learnt alot already and think this time will be a life changing experience. I never thought finding a toliet block that you could lock to sleep in would feel like winning the lotto with a view outside of the Harbour Bridge :) It's a terrifying thing waking up at every tiny noise knowing how vunerable you are and not knowing if you are safe. Thinking about how many people have to do this each night is devastating. Thankyou Timothy Llewellyn for camping out on Saturday night, we had a pretty uncomfortable sleep behind St Mary's Cathedral but had alot fun and very much appreciated having someone with me which many people do not have. Thankyou John Grant Harvey who has now been out with me for a couple of days who also did a similar campaign earlier in the year in Melbourne, 30Days homeless, he has been great and taught me loads, an amazing and inspirational person.
Tried some car window washing yesterday made a few dollars and then some shop windows which seemed to be a bit more profitable. It's been a very busy time walking nearly 20km's each day to find my next meal and looking for a safe place to camp out each night. I'm definately not regretting doing this and think I will gain a lot whilst also learning about myself and the world. In saying that it has been pretty tough physically and mentally. By the end of this month I will be very happy knowing that I have contributed into this unfortunate epidemic that happens everyday with people all around the world.
Anways better get back out of the lovely Crown St library and plan where dinner will come from :)
