Day 4 into my One month homeless. first shower and change of clothes today so far, thankyou to The Station drop in centre in CBD, ah i'm so grateful.
So far i've had some wonderful, interesting, tiring, scary and a million other emotions flow throughout the last few days. I think i've learnt alot already and think this time will be a life changing experience. I never thought finding a toliet block that you could lock to sleep in would feel like winning the lotto with a view outside of the Harbour Bridge :) It's a terrifying thing waking up at every tiny noise knowing how vunerable you are and not knowing if you are safe. Thinking about how many people have to do this each night is devastating. Thankyou Timothy Llewellyn for camping out on Saturday night, we had a pretty uncomfortable sleep behind St Mary's Cathedral but had alot fun and very much appreciated having someone with me which many people do not have. Thankyou John Grant Harvey who has now been out with me for a couple of days who also did a similar campaign earlier in the year in Melbourne, 30Days homeless, he has been great and taught me loads, an amazing and inspirational person.
Tried some car window washing yesterday made a few dollars and then some shop windows which seemed to be a bit more profitable. It's been a very busy time walking nearly 20km's each day to find my next meal and looking for a safe place to camp out each night. I'm definately not regretting doing this and think I will gain a lot whilst also learning about myself and the world. In saying that it has been pretty tough physically and mentally. By the end of this month I will be very happy knowing that I have contributed into this unfortunate epidemic that happens everyday with people all around the world.
Anways better get back out of the lovely Crown St library and plan where dinner will come from :)
